Glorify God in Your Body in 2015
Our key verse for 2015 is… 1 Corinthians 6:20b “…glorify God in your body.”
Ladies, as a part of our focus on body and soul in 2015 you are invited to The Daily Workout at 7:10–8:10am Monday-Thursday in the Grove beginning January 5, 2015. All levels of exercisers welcome. We will work out to praise and worship music. Wear comfortable clothes, shoes and bring a mat or towel. Contact Kathy Nobles at 661-549-6553.
Wednesdays – Women’s Evening Bible Study continues
On Wednesdays Jody Irwin is leading the in-depth Precepts study Hebrews—Part 1 at 6:00pm on Wednesdays in Room 202.
Friday, January 16 – February 6 – Winter Bible Study
We are starting off the year focusing on the temple of the Holy Spirit – our bodies – by studying Elyse Fitzpatrick’s Love to Eat, Hate to Eat – Breaking the Bondage of Destructive Eating Habits. Join us on Friday mornings starting January 16 at 9:30am as we study how to “Glorify God in our Body” by living a DISCIPLINED life. Childcare is available. Book is only $5.
February 9 – Making Peace with Your Past – Find out more about this recovery programs held at Country Oaks Baptist Church at Making Peace With Your Past or by calling Men’s Leader, Mike Boers or the Women’s Leader, Aleta Boers at 822-0170. What is Making Peace with Your Past? – It is a resource for men and women who grew up in a dysfunctional family to help discover and untangle the mysteries of why you are the way you are today. This is a 12-step Support group using a Christian adaptation of Alcoholics Anonymous’ to help each other gain awareness, understanding, emotional, psychological and spiritual support for dealing with uncovering and breaking the cycle of hurtful family experiences. This face-to-face group will support you with love and understanding and feedback as you work through various topics such as ‘discovering self esteem’ ‘perfectionism & procrastination’ ‘healing painful memories’ and ‘help for people who grew up too soon’ to name just a few.
February 20 – Beth Moore’s Breaking Free – The focus will go back to our souls as we dive into Beth Moore’s Updated Breaking Free: The Journey, The Stories. Beth leads us through a study of the Scriptures to discover the transforming power of freedom in Jesus Christ. Themes for this study come from Isaiah, a book about the captivity of God’s children, the faithfulness of God, and the road to freedom.
February 24 – Run for God (from Couch Potato to 5K)
Cindy Davis will be leading “Run for God – The 5K Challenge” – a 12-week training plan aimed at running a 5K while maintaining a Christian focus. The goal is to go from Couch Potato to participating in Tehachapi’s “Run with the Wind” 5K on May 30, 2015.
